Masks & Tanks: $300,000 to replace their lifeline

A Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus — the mask and air tank a firefighter wears — is their lifeline inside a burning building. Without it, entry is impossible.

Grosse Pointe Park's units are nearing the end of their service life. This campaign replaces every mask and tank, standardized so our crews can connect and share air with neighboring Pointe departments at any fire.

They have to be able to see and breathe in horrific conditions in order to save those in grave danger.

Why compatibility matters

Our officers serve as both police and firefighters, answering every fire alongside neighboring Pointe departments. Compatible masks and tanks let crews connect their gear and work together safely.

Why the Foundation exists

The City funds operations. The Foundation funds excellence.

The Grosse Pointe Park Public Safety Foundation is an independent, community-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit that funds equipment, training, and wellness resources for Grosse Pointe Park's public safety officers.

The City of Grosse Pointe Park provides exceptional police and fire protection through its annual operating budget — personnel, vehicles, facilities, and emergency response.

But like every municipality, worthwhile opportunities extend beyond that budget: specialized safety equipment, replacement breathing masks and air tanks, wellness initiatives, advanced training. The Foundation exists to bridge that gap through community philanthropy.

They answer every call for us. Now it's our turn to answer theirs.

Everything in this mockup is up for debate — nothing above this panel is final. The imagery, especially, is placeholder: every photo can be swapped, and none has been selected by the group. The copy is equally provisional — every headline, section, and sentence is a working draft awaiting review and rewrite by the messaging team; no wording here should be read as settled. The same goes for structure, section order, colors, and type: this mockup exists to give the group something concrete to react to, not to lock anything in.
